The Women in Leadership online short course examines role identity, social capital and diversity and inclusion as approaches to overcome the tension points that challenge the advancement of women in leadership roles on personal, social, societal and institutional levels. The course aims to equip women in leadership positions with the knowledge and skills to explore their personal role identity, develop social capital, and drive diversity and inclusion.
The course is aimed at women currently holding leadership and management positions, as well as women who have been earmarked for further development in leadership roles.
Practical application to self, network, and organisation:
Participants apply learning practically to the own context as they reflect on and articulate their personal role identity, develop approaches to building social capital and formulate a real life diversity and inclusion plan.
Authentic, relevant, and current insights from women in leadership roles:
The course videos feature a diverse set of women in leadership roles that share their personal experiences, challenges and insights with participants.
Positive and action-orientated:
The course holds a positive tone, providing a realistic view of the tension points experienced by women, as well as suggesting positive, action-orientated approaches to address and overcome these challenges.
Over the course of 7 weeks, participants will be equipped to:
Matric certificate or equivalent
Good grasp of English reading, writing & speaking
Intermediate computer skills.
