Why choose this course?

Based on the PMBOK process groups and the PRINCE2® principles, the PMP is a comprehensive 3-month programme that provides insights into the fundamentals of Project Management but also covers, on a more in-depth level, (1) The Formulation of the Scope of a Project, (2) Organising for Project Management, (3) Cost
Management, and (4) Time Management for Projects with Nonrepetitive Elements.

On successful completion of the Project Management Programme, participants can apply for recognition of prior learning (RPL) for the Managing Projects module on Stellenbosch Business School's Postgraduate Diplomas in Project Management OR Development Finance, on the condition that they submit all the documentation and take/pass the tests as required, as well as meet the application process and admittance criteria requirements.

Over the course of 3 months, participants will be equipped to:

• Apply critical thought to position a project’s goal and objectives relative to the organisation’s strategy.
• Demonstrate an ability to critically categorise project stakeholders and define appropriate management actions.
• Demonstrate an ability to apply a comprehensive project scoping technique to determine and document the project statement of work and work breakdown structure.
• Demonstrate an ability to develop a project baseline based on appropriate scheduling and the application of activity-based costing principles.
• Apply critical thought to compare a project’s performance against the stated baseline and propose remedial managerial interventions if required.
